Our Mission
At SedMed, we believe everyone deserves to maintain their independence, dignity, and confidence at home.
As we age or face mobility challenges, everyday tasks can become more difficult. One of the most common—and often overlooked—challenges is safely sitting down and standing up from the toilet. That's where SedMed comes in.
Our mission is simple: help people stay independent longer by making the bathroom a safer place.
SedMed was co-founded by engineer Jeremy Bronen and entrepreneur Timothy Krupski. The inspiration for SedMed came from Timothy's grandmother, Grace, who suffered a stroke and faced daily challenges using the bathroom independently. Wanting to help Grace maintain her dignity, safety, and quality of life, Timothy partnered with Jeremy, then a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Connecticut, to develop a better solution.
What began as a university design project soon revealed a challenge faced by millions of older adults, individuals with mobility limitations, and caregivers. Inspired by Grace's experience, the team spent years refining the concept and working closely with users, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to create a practical, reliable solution that supports bathroom safety and independence.
Today, SedMed provides a reliable, non-electric toilet lift designed to support individuals with limited mobility, those recovering from surgery or injury, and older adults who want to continue living independently. By helping reduce hard landings and assisting with sit-to-stand movement, SedMed supports both users and caregivers during one of life's most essential daily activities.
Unlike electric alternatives, SedMed requires no batteries, charging, or power source. Its simple, dependable design helps provide peace of mind at home and in healthcare settings alike.
Today, SedMed is trusted by individuals, caregivers, and healthcare professionals who share a common goal—supporting safer mobility and greater independence.
